As rumors continue to circulate about Kate Middleton’s health and well-being, her sister-in-law Meghan Markle is reportedly concerned and has reached out through “back channels.”
Scandals of the Royal Palaces Author Tom Quinn recently told Mirror that the Duchess of Sussex allegedly approached Kensington Palace through back channels to contact Middleton. This comes after the Princess of Wales made headlines over her whereabouts since she underwent abdominal surgery earlier this year.
“She’s really worried about Kate’s health,” Quinn said of Markle. It was also reported that Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, have not spoken to Prince William and Kate Middleton since they stepped down from royal duties and moved to California in 2020.
However, even though Markle supports Middleton, there appears to be no sign of reconciliation anytime soon. Royal expert Jennie Bond said OK! “I don’t think Kate ever considered Meghan, who spent so little time in the royal fold, as an appropriate or qualified person to give her advice or support.”
Bond also noted that Middleton is currently focusing on regaining his strength, physically and mentally. “I don’t imagine she would be happy to address the family breakdown at this point,” Bond said.
Bond said Meghan Markle sent “flowers or candy” to Kate Middleton. This was a way to “cheer her up.” The gesture “would be accepted politely.”
Royal experts say Kate Middleton would ‘politely accept’ Meghan Markle’s ‘olive branches’ amid international gossip
Tom Quinn also agrees that Kate Middleton would politely accept Meghan Markle’s “olive branches” amid the media frenzy. However, this would simply mean that she does not want to be seen “rejecting these proposals.”
Quinn noted that Markle’s gifts and outreach efforts would not lead to real reconciliation. “The feeling at Kensington Palace is that Meghan’s attempts to extend an olive branch are welcome,” Quinn said. “She will simply reopen old wounds.”
Notably, Kate Middleton has not been seen publicly since Christmas 2023, except for some blurry images of her traveling in vehicles. Middleton recently made headlines for a heavily edited image she posted on Instagram. She later claimed that she was the one who edited the photo.
Middleton will not attend Sunday’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade at Mons Barracks in Aldershot, England. It is said that this is an event he attends every year. He became an honorary colonel of the Irish Guards in 2023 following the death of Queen Elizabeth.
