Love After Music, or El amor después del amo, will chronicle Fito Paez’s three-decade journey to the pinnacle of musical greatness. Paez will mature into the artist we know today over this long period of time. It will also see him grapple with pain, tragedy, success, failure, passion, love affairs and songwriting, paving the way for one of the best Argentines from up to now.
The series announcement is short but offers a glimpse into Paez’s colorful and mysterious world, along with almost surreal moments. It also shows some of the musician’s travels. Fito Paez produced the series with brother-in-law Juan Pablo Kolodziej and Mariano Chihade, and is named after Paez’s seventh studio album which has gained worldwide recognition. Netflix will release all eight episodes at once.

Fito Paez, or Rodolfo Páez valos, is an Argentine pianist, songwriter, singer-songwriter and film director. In 1963, he was born in Rosario, Santa Fe province. Since he shares the same last name as his father, he was nicknamed Rodolfito, which was later shortened to Fito. Fito, a born musician, formed his first band at the age of 13. The following year, he began to play solo in clubs. Fito began touring with bands while still in high school, quickly becoming a household name in the business world. He has since created some great albums with the help of some of Argentina’s most famous musicians, such as Daniel Wirtz and Fabián Gallardo.
His reputation grew as he turned his work into a more artistic path, examining topics such as cultural influence, poverty and exploitation, among others. As a result, he became world famous.
The great composer previously told Billboard about his artistic journey:
“I was born in 1963 and my parents have a piano.” Usually someone is playing the piano. We have big gatherings where my aunt plays the piano and people sing and talk. This is similar to what James Joyce describes in The Dubliners. It was popular culture at the time. My mother was an excellent concert pianist and my father was an avid music enthusiast.”
After receiving numerous awards and honors throughout his career, he finally received the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021, cementing his legacy in the Latin American music world. . Paez is also known for his non-musical works. Pursuing a musical career, he is credited with directing two films, Vidas privadas (2001) and De quién es el portaligas? (2007).
