Krishna Bahadur Pathak’s hockey talent was recognized at the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, where he initially played. He was then selected as part of the hockey team of Railay Coach Factory and after a few years, Krishna Bahadur was selected by the Indian Oil Corporation men’s hockey team. When Krishna was about 16 years old, he was a regular student of the Surjit Singh Hockey Academy in Jalandhar and later passed the trials of the India men’s national under-19 field hockey team and became a part of the team as a goalkeeper. Following his selection, he represented India in the 2016 Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup which was held in India and the team defeated Belgium with the final score of 2–1.

  • His father died 2 days before Krishna was to make his international tournament debut, which was a seven-match series against the English junior team. He decided to continue the tournament and did not even attend his father’s funeral in order to represent his country on the international front. Six months after his father’s demise, Krishna Bahadur served as the lead goalkeeper of the Indian hockey team at the 2016 Junior Hockey World Cup.
