Kishore Pradhan was born on 1 November 1932 (age 86 years at the time of death) in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. He was born in a wealthy family and was brought up generously; Since his family always supported his studies as well as his love for art. As a school-going child, he used to watch a lot of theater rehearsals. He took his little interest a step further by starting to work as a child actor in plays and radio. He also used to participate in the theater plays of the eminent Marathi playwright and director, Purushottam Darvekar.
He started his theater career from Nagpur during his graduation days; Since he used to actively participate in college festivals. After graduation, when he came to Mumbai, he started working at Glaxo Laboratories. His work life did not affect his interest in theatre; As soon as he started his own theater group Nataraja.
He was also associated with Doordarshan since the establishment of the channel in 1972. In the TV world, he is remembered for co-anchoring the show Gajra with his wife Shobha.
In 1987, he decided to leave Marathi drama due to his busy work schedule. After working for more than 25 years in various managerial positions, he took retirement in 1994. Since then, he devoted all his time to theater and acting. He was also a well-known face in the advertising world and was a character model for over 15 years.

His father, Amritrao Pradhan alias Kakasaheb, was a renowned pharmacist and owner of Nagpur-based pharmacy company, Amrit Pharmacy. His mother, Malti Amrit Pradhan, was a renowned theater actor and playwright. He was married to Shobha Pradhan.

Apart from his early interest in acting, he was also good in education. He did his schooling from Nagpur and graduated in MA (Economics) from Morris College, Nagpur. After completion of his graduation, he worked as a research scholar at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. After completion of his training, he started working for GlaxoSmithKline (erstwhile Glaxo Laboratories), one of the oldest multinational companies in India. Along with his job, he also continued doing theatre. His success as a theater artist came in 1970 with his first play Kaaka Kishacha. After a career spanning more than 25 years, he left his managerial job in 1994; Mainly to continue his work in the field of acting. Apart from doing over 100 Marathi theater plays and 18 English plays, he also acted in Marathi, Hindi and English films. His roles in Jab We Met with Kareena Kapoor, Lage Raho Munnabhai with Sanjay Dutt and Main Shivaji Raje Bhosle Boltoy with Sachin Khedekar were some of his most famous works.
Death
He breathed his last on 11 January 2019 in Mumbai. The reason behind his death is not yet known. He was last seen in the Marathi film Shubh Lagan Saavdhan (2018).
