Sophie Turner officially withdraws her lawsuit against Joe Jonas. Turner previously accused her ex-husband Jonas of improperly withholding her two daughters. Now, she is withdrawing the lawsuit.
According to my! Online, a New York judge dismissed the case “with the consent of the parties” to dismiss the legal filing. The couple reportedly agreed to a parenting plan for their daughters Willa and DMJ.
The official firing should mark the end of Turner and Jonas’ very messy and public divorce. The two reached a custody agreement three months ago and the children split their time between the United States and the United Kingdom.
In a joint statement, the two wrote: “After productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend equal time in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being excellent co-parents.”
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas split
While the two initially seemed friendly, the two soon became involved in a public dispute over their children. After Jonas filed for divorce, the couple issued a joint statement explaining that they were separating.
“After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to end our marriage amicably,” the two shared in a message on social media. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our privacy wishes for ourselves and our children.”
However, the question arose of where the couple’s two children would live. Turner filed a lawsuit seeking the return of her two children. Jonas took to the media to condemn the lawsuit.
“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending,” Jonas told E! News. “When language like ‘kidnapping’ is used, it is at best misleading and at worst a gross abuse of the legal system.”
At that moment, Jonas responded to the idea that he had kidnapped their children.
“The children were not kidnapped,” Jonas’ representative reiterated. “After being in Joe’s care for the past three months by agreement of both parties, the children are currently with their mother. “Sophie makes this claim only to move the divorce proceedings to the UK and remove the children from the US permanently.”
It appears that the two have reached a peaceful agreement regarding custody.
