Kenneth Mathew Sebastian, better known as Kenny Sebastian, is an Indian stand-up comedian, musician and filmmaker. He came into limelight through a YouTube channel which aired clips of his stand up comedy shows.

Kenny Sebastian was born on Tuesday, 31 December 1991 (age 28 years; as in 2019) in Kerala. Their zodiac sign is Capricorn.

Kenny grew up in different parts of India as his father was an Indian Navy personnel. After his father’s retirement, his family settled in Bengaluru. He did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, NAL Campus, Bengaluru and went to Chitrakala Parishad, Karnataka to pursue graduation in Visual Arts. Kenny was a very mischievous child. He had a keen interest in film direction from a young age. He started making his films at the age of just 15. Kenny did not have a camera at that time, so he borrowed a camera from a friend and started shooting films. While in college, Kenny became involved in theater and did so for several years.

livelihood
Kenny Sebastian started his career by making short films. By the age of 23, he had directed 12 short films and 2 feature films. In 2008, he created his YouTube channel “Kenny Sebastian” and released his first video “9 Hours to Live”. He first created parodies and covered popular songs and gradually gained a following.
In 2014, he wrote and directed a season of India’s first sketch comedy television show “The Living Room”. Kenny began creating songs from tweets, known as #KennySing4Me. This gave him initial popularity. He also created an improved sketch show for “Comedy Central.”
He co-wrote and starred in the web series “Star Boys”. He has played special roles in web series like ‘Humorously Yours’, ‘Better Life Foundation’, ‘Son of Abish’ and ‘Pushpavalli’. He has an original series “Die Trying” and a sketch comedy show “Sketchy Behavior” on Amazon Prime Video.
Sebastian has set up his own production studio “Superhuman Studios”, where he produces content for his YouTube channel. Kenny hosts a monthly live video blog “Chai Time Comedy with Kenny Sebastian” in which he holds an interactive chat program with people. In the show, he also gives humorous comments about regular events.
He has directed comedy specials and is one of the jury members of “Comicstan”, a comedy hunt reality show on Amazon Prime. Kenny performs for popular comedy clubs such as “The Canvas Laugh Club” and “The Comedy Store”. He is associated with the Bangalore-based comedy group “The Polished Bottoms”. Kenny is also part of ‘The Improvisers’, a group of four comedians consisting of Kanan Gill, Kenny Sebastian, Kaneez Surkha and Abish Mathew.

In January 2017, he began a cross-country global tour with his show “Don’t Be That Guy”. As of 2019, Kenny has performed over 500 shows and has performed with many popular comedians such as Vir Das, Phil Nicol (UK), Raj Sharma (US, HBO), Imran Yusuf (UK) and AIB’s Tanmay Bhatt.

So I don’t have it right now. My teacher was so impressed by this unique answer that he called my mom and told her what I had said. My mom and dad still talk about it.
- Before becoming a stand-up comedian, Kenny tried to become a musician. He played music in restaurants for months. Kenny also released an album which remained unreleased. Talking about it he says,
I still have 200 to 300 CDs in my house to remind me of this fact.
- The surprising thing is that the comedian who created a stir in the show with such ease once felt stage fright. Talking about the same he says,
I was afraid of the stage in school. My first memory of getting cold feet on stage was when I was in fifth or sixth grade. I was paralyzed and couldn’t even move. I don’t know why, but for some reason, I always wanted to be on stage. And I used to get frustrated seeing other kids do it so easily. So, from sixth to eleventh grade, my goal was to get rid of stage fright and for this, I read many books on how to overcome it. After years of hard work, I finally got the courage to give a speech on stage in 11th class.”
- Kenny started earning money when he was in 11th grade, and by the time he reached his first year in college, he became financially independent. After completing graduation, Kenny started earning more than one lakh rupees a month by doing freelance corporate films.
