While Kelly Clarkson has been respectful of everyone she works with, several growers have been protective of how employees are treated.

Kelly is fantastic. She is a person who never treats anyone with anything but dignity and she is incredibly appreciative,” said a former employee. “I would be surprised if she knew. I’d be surprised if she knew that her staff doesn’t get paid for two weeks of Christmas vacation. Employees say Human Resources has been largely unresponsive to complaints about grower behavior.

“I was trying to find a new job after experiencing the toxicity of the day and it had the potential to be a fresh start, but Alex [Duda] and the people who are loyal to him have not broken that cycle. You can’t be a leader if you’re going to let all these bad things keep happening and promote a bad culture,” says the employee. “All these daytime shows are supposed to make you feel good and happy. Kelly [Clarkson] use a closure, ‘Make it a great day and if it’s not great, change it,’ but it’s hard to exist and work in a machine that’s pumping out this happy, bubbly, positive message and then you have people here who just get treated badly.” .
