Jitesh came into controversy when he took to social media in 2019 to comment on actress Hina Khan when she appeared at Cannes. While posting Hina’s picture in the story, he said that Cannes has become Chandivali Studio. After his comment, many actors from Bollywood and television industry including Ekta Kapoor, Gauhar Khan, Arjun Bijlani, Nia Sharma and Nakuul Mehta criticized him on social media. Later, Hina said in a tweet that she will work harder. When he received criticism from the industry, he apologized to Hin. In another post he said that what he meant to say was that Cannes has become Bollywood centric.
