Jhulan Goswami was born on 25 November 1982 (age: 36 years, as in 2018) in Chakdaha, Nadia, West Bengal, India into a Bengali family. In his childhood, he was fond of playing and watching football. However, his interest in cricket increased when he watched the 1992 Cricket World Cup on TV. When she was 15 years old, she started playing cricket and trained herself in the game. There were no facilities for cricket training in her hometown, then she moved to Kolkata and focused on her studies and cricket.

He made his first-class debut for the Bengal cricket team when he was a teenager. When she was only 19, she made her debut for the India national women’s cricket team against England in the ODI format in Chennai. On 14 January 2002, she made her Test debut for the national women’s cricket team against England in Lucknow. In 2006, Goswami made his T20 International debut in Derby, England. She bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium fast. In 2008, she was named captain of the national women’s cricket team and led the team until 2011. In 2008, Goswami became the fourth woman to reach 100 wickets in ODIs in the Asia Cup. She has also worked as a bowling consultant for the India women’s national cricket team and as a player-coach.
