Jayaram Subramaniam, popularly known as Jayaram, is an Indian actor who mostly works in the South Indian film industry. He has won various awards for his performances in several Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam language films.

Jayaram Subramaniam was born on Friday, 10 December 1965 (age 57 years; as in 2022) in Perumbavoor, Kerala. Jayaram grew up in Perumbavoor city of Kerala. He studied at the Government Boys High School, Perumbavoor. Later, Jayaram went to Sree Shankar College, Kalady, Kerala and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. According to sources, after completing college, Jayaram worked as a medical representative. According to reports, Jayaram did his undergraduate course in Chenda from the National Institute of Ulsawam Sciences and Technology in Thrissur, Kerala.

- It was revealed in an interview that Jayaram loved animals so much since childhood that he used to collect pictures of elephants while his friends were busy collecting matchsticks and labels. Recalling those moments of childhood, Jayaram said,
As a boy, when my classmates collected matchbox labels and stamps, I collected about 400 photographs of elephants, including paper clippings and black-and-white photographs.
- According to some sources, Jayaram was once invited as the chief guest to the Thrissur temple where he was to consecrate an elephant named Padmanabhan as ‘Gajaraja’. After seeing the elephant, Jaime recognized it as his childhood favorite elephant. According to Jayaram, he was informed a few years later that the said elephant died; However, its teeth were transferred to him in a legal manner, and Jayaram respectfully kept them in his drawing room.
