Jaspreet Singh was born in the year 1979 (age 31 years; as in 2020). He is a resident of Batala near Amritsar, Punjab. He did his schooling from Sri Guru Harkrishna Public School, Amritsar. Jaspreet studied Bachelor of Technology (2007-2011) in Computer Science from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

After completing B.Tech., Jaspreet started working as a software engineer at Samsung Research Institute, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. While working at Samsung, a friend of his introduced him to stand-up comedy for the first time. Later, he joined Sapient (an American IT company) in Gurgaon and worked there as a Senior Associate from April 2015 to January 2018.

Since childhood, Jaspreet wanted to make people laugh. He loved listening to cassettes of famous Indian comedians like Bhagwant Mann and Johnny Lever. In sixth grade he wrote in someone’s slam book that he wanted to be a comedian.
While working at Sapient, Jaspreet started attending open mics. As of 2020, he has performed 700+ shows and has performed in over 60 cities in India, USA, Australia, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Qatar and UAE. His solo shows are “Tu To Chup Hi Rah” and “Koi Load Nahi”. Overall, more than 23 thousand tickets have been sold.
In an interview, when asked about his favorite genre of comedy that he likes to do, he said,
I like doing real life comedy. Whatever I say, people say that yes, this can happen. My problem is that I can’t write fiction, all the jokes and stories I make have some connection with my life. So there are two styles in it, anecdotal and observational and my content is a bit of a mix of both.”
He uploaded his first YouTube video “Dad, Savings and Milk” in the hopes that the video would get over 1 lakh views so he could get corporate shows. But that video went viral and he became popular overnight. Later, the video received over 10 million views on YouTube.
There is a podcast by Jaspreet Singh on the Gaana app titled “Thoda Chill Thoda Grill”. He also has a show on YouTube titled “Jassi Doesn’t Like It”, where he criticizes things he doesn’t like on the internet.
