Janelle was the featured guest on StyleLikeUfrom the series What’s Underneath, and talked about his self-acceptance.
In her article, Janelle said that when she first appeared on the scene, she was wearing her iconic suit uniform, which in turn covered almost all of her skin.
He admitted that at the time he received comments like “I’m so happy you’re covered, not like those women.”
But Janelle didn’t take it as a compliment, leading her to open up about her insecurities about her breasts.
“It took me years to get comfortable with my breasts. That’s probably why I’m like wooo freedom,” she said, moving her chest towards the camera in the video. “I can only imagine the horror stories that happened to my ancestors, but I was always taught, ‘Don’t do anything that will make men attracted to you.'”
Added Janelle, “It took me a long time to realize that it’s not my responsibility to adjust my freedom so you’re comfortable, so you don’t try to rape or abuse me.”
“I am having an earthly experience in which I express myself, I try to honor my body, honor my wholeness. I’m not asking for your attention. It shouldn’t make me feel bad or ashamed because you can’t control your own impulses.”
In another new feature, Janelle opened up about her non-binary identity.
