Jagdish Deora is an Indian lawyer and politician. He became the Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government on 11 December 2023. Deora is known for representing the Malhargarh assembly constituency for eight consecutive terms. He briefly served as the pro tempore Speaker of the 15th Madhya Pradesh Assembly, but later stepped down to become a minister.

Jagdish Deora was born on Monday, 1 July 1957 (age 66 years; as in 2023) in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Cancer. Jagdish Deora started his political journey while in college. In 1979, when he was studying in the Government College in Rampura, Neemuche, he became the president of the student union in his college. After this he joined BJP and played different roles in the party. In 1986, he worked as an English professor at Vikram University, Ujjain.
He represented Suwasra constituency in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1990, 1993 and 2003. In 1990, he won against Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Parvati Arya by 15,428 votes. In 1993, Deora won against Congress candidate Girish by 5,443 votes. However, in the 1998 elections, he lost to Congress candidate Pushpa Bhartiya by 4,098 votes. In the 2003 elections, Devda defeated Indian National Congress candidate Pushpa Bhartiya by a significant margin of 35,636 votes.
Deora contested the state assembly elections in 2008, 2013 and 2018 and won the Malhargarh constituency. In 2008, he defeated Shyamlal Jokchand of the Indian National Congress Party by 3,688 votes. In the 2013 elections, he was re-elected from the same constituency. He defeated his rival Jokchand by a margin of 6,571 votes. In the 2018 elections, Devda won against Indian National Congress candidate Parashuram Sisodia by 11,872 votes. Deora served in the commercial tax, planning, economics and statistics departments in Chouhan’s fourth cabinet.
In the 2023 Madhya Pradesh Assembly election, Jagdish Deora won the Malhargarh constituency by defeating independent candidate Shyamlal Jokchand by a margin of 59,024 votes.
