Why ‘Godzilla Minus One’s Oscar win means a lot
Godzilla is one of the most recognizable and recognizable movie monsters of all time. First appearing in a 1954 Toho film, the creature has taken on many forms since then and is now a central character in Legendary’s MonsterVerse series. Despite its 70-year storied history, no previous “Godzilla” movie has ever been nominated for an Oscar, let alone actually won one.
Other nominees for the 2024 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects include: creator, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3and Napoleon.
