The always-on display feature that comes with iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models (enabled by default) now has its own settings page, where anyone can easily turn the feature on or off and hide wallpapers and notifications. To find it, launch the Settings app and go toDisplay and Brightness.’ Scroll down and click ‘always show.’ Here the user can toggle ‘always show‘ Switch to off position. Alternatively, they can keep turning the feature on and off.”display wallpaper,”show notifications,’ or both.
What happens when you modify the always-on display settings
When the iPhone’s always-on display is turned off, whether you press the power button or activate the lock screen automatically, the phone screen turns completely black. When the user picks up the device, taps the screen, or presses the side button, this action activates the screen and displays the selected lock screen wallpaper, along with the time, date, and any active widgets. This option is great for people who are easily distracted and just want to see iPhone activity while actually doing it.
Users who want to enable the always-on display setting can make the iPhone screen less busy by disabling one or both of the lock screen wallpapers and notifications. When both the wallpaper and the notification are hidden, the screen remains black and only the date and time are displayed. The two main lock screen components are isolated from their respective switches, allowing any iPhone user to quickly glance at their phone’s screen, prioritizing their common causes.
Users who fully enable the always-on display with the new settings won’t need to worry about it draining the battery a lot. It automatically dims the screen when not needed. Certain situations will automatically trigger this action, such as placing iPhone face down on a surface or placing it in a pocket or trouser pocket. The Always-On Display also turns off when iPhone is detected as inactive and unused for a certain amount of time, while iPhone is currently running in Low Power Mode, when Sleep Focus Mode is enabled, or when iPhone is removed from a paired Apple Watch. In addition, it will also be disabled when using the continuous camera and CarPlay features of the iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max.
