Emmy Award-winning actress and television personality, Niecy Nash, recently appeared as Glenda Cleveland in the Netflix limited series Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which airs on Netflix September 21 Created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, the show focuses on the serial killer of the same name Jeffrey Dahmer (played by Evan Peters), a 13-year-old killer that began in 1978 and primarily targets people gay men of color. The show chronicles the circumstances that led to the birth of the famous ‘Milwaukee Monster’, as well as its eventual closure in 1991. The show focuses on the traumatic experiences of Dahmer’s victims. and present events from the perspective of those victims and Dahmer’s neighbors.
Niecy Nash’s character, Glenda Cleveland, is one of Dahmer’s neighbors who first became suspicious of his behavior and alerted the police.

1) Niecy Nash graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts degree.
It’s no surprise that Niecy Nash studied drama at California State University as her degree certainly made her a great actress. Niecy Nash previously revealed in an interview with Us Weekly:
When I was five years old, I decided I wanted to be an actress after watching actress Lola Falana on television.
Although she started her career booking for an airline, Nash quickly rose to the top to appear on many popular shows, including the sitcom Reno 911!, Getting Started, and When They See Them. I.
2) Nash has three children who are all actors.
Niecy Nash and her first husband Don Nash have three children. From 1994 to 2007, their marriage lasted 13 years. Their three children, Dominic, Donielle and Dia, are all active artists in the entertainment world. Dominic and Donielle Nash appear in The Soul Man alongside their mother Nash. Donielle has also appeared in sitcoms such as Modern Family, Never Have I Ever and Grown-ish. Dia Nash has appeared in many shows with her mother, including Reno 911!, Claws and Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, in which she played Sandra Smith, daughter of Glenda Cleveland, Nash’s character.

Niecy Nash was openly bisexual when she married singer Jessica Betts in a gorgeous wedding ceremony in August 2020. The couple secretly dated until their wedding day, when they announced their engagement to the public. They were also the first same-sex couple to appear on the cover of Essence. Nash and Betts have teamed up on a clothing brand that celebrates the love and greatness of the black LGBTQ community. The label ‘Betting of Both Worlds’ integrates their married names and refers to a project that combines the best of both.

In 2013, Niecy Nash published the self-help book It’s Hard to Fight Naked. Niecy admitted to Kevin Frazier in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she is currently writing her second book on the advice of Oprah Winfrey. She also said Winfrey (who is rumored to be a Nash fan) approached her about publishing a book about her breakout love story with Jessica Betts.
5) Nash has helped several nonprofit groups.
Nash has partnered with a number of important organizations. She is the face of the group MAVIS (Mothers Against Violence in Schools). Her mother founded the group in 1993, after Nash’s younger brother, Michael, was tragically killed in a school shooting that year. Niecy helped her mother run MAVIS until they decided to shut it down.
She has also volunteered for charities such as Dress for Success and the American Cancer Society. Nash also supports Wendy Raquel Robinson, a friend and actress, at Robinson’s Amazing Grace Conservatory, a nonprofit center that teaches and develops emerging artists in the performing arts.
