Haider Ali Ekrami’s coach Jawad Mousavi Nasab is his biggest inspiration and the only reason why he came into the field of Kabaddi. The franchise ‘U Mumba’ was introduced to him by Iranian Kabaddi player and his mentor Fazal Atrachali. In 2019, Heydar Ali Ekrami participated in the Junior World Kabaddi Championship held in Kish city of Kish Island, Iran. He was part of the Iran team that won the gold award in the final of the tournament. In 2023, Haider Ali participated in the Asian Games held in Xiaoshan district of China. He represented the Iran team and won the silver medal in the tournament.
In 2022, Haider Ali was selected and bought by Mumbai-based Kabaddi team ‘U Mumba’ for Rs 14 lakh to play as a raider in the ninth season of the Pro Kabaddi League held in Bangalore. Throughout the tournament, Haider had an overall raid strike rate of 50% and a tackle strike rate of 67%. He even won the ‘Game Changer Award’ in his first Pro Kabaddi League match.
In 2023, he was retained as a raider by the ‘U Mumba’ team for the 10th season of the Pro Kabaddi League, with Haider Ali having an overall raid strike rate of 67%.
