According USA TodayGarth spoke about the negative reactions to his decision.

“Everyone has their opinions,” he said on the “Inside Studio G” live broadcast. “But inclusion will always be me. I believe that diversity is the answer to the problems that are here and the answer to the problems that are to come. So I love the diversity. All inclusive, so everyone is welcome. “I get that those may not be other people’s opinions, but that’s okay, man.”

Garth then talked about those who don’t want to come to his Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk because of his stance.

“So here’s the deal, man, if you want to come to Friends in Low Places, come on in. But come with love, with tolerance and patience. Go in with an open mind and it’s great,” he shared.

Garth concluded: “If you’re one of those people who just can’t do that, I understand. If you’re ever one of those people who wants to try it, come.”

Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky Tonk is located in Nashville and will open later this year.
