Gal Luft Bio
Gal Luft is an American-Israeli think-tank director, author, and academic who was born on May 26, 1966. In addition to serving as executive director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security and co-founding the Set America Free Coalition, Luft served as a lieutenant colonel in the Israel Defense Forces.
Gal was detained in Cyprus on February 17, 2023, pursuant to a warrant issued by Interpol and suspected of trafficking in firearms. He left the country[4][citation required] after posting bail and went into hiding. On July 10, 2023, the Justice Department unveiled an indictment against Luft, accusing him of breaking the Foreign Agents Registration Act and working as an unregistered agent of the Chinese government[citation needed].
The indictment claims that Luft persuaded an unnamed adviser to then-president-elect Donald Trump to support China at the direction of the Chinese government.
Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, was the target of a number of corruption charges made by Luft, including that Hunter and the Biden family had improper financial ties to the energy corporation CEFC, which is under the jurisdiction of China. According to Luft, the criminal charges are political retaliation for his accusations.
Gal Luft served as the US Energy Security Council’s Senior Advisor in 2011.
Gal Luft was a co-director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security prior to the suspected arms deals, according to his LinkedIn profile. He received a Ph.D. in philosophy from John Hopkins University in Maryland, and in 2011 he was appointed senior advisor at the US Energy Security Council.
He also served as the chairman of the International Privacy Machines and an adjunct professor at the OSTIM university in Turkey.
Gal Luft, who was quoted by Ynet News as being particularly critical of the Biden administration, alleged that the President and his cabinet colleagues were operating undemocratically and in their own self-interests. According to Intelligence Online, he belongs to a think tank comprising various authorities and former US spies.
According to Mordechai Tzivin, Gal Luft’s attorney, the Biden administration is after the alleged arms dealer because he allegedly provided incriminating testimony against Hunter Biden in a corruption case. The latter is reportedly being investigated for potential tax fraud. The case has been underway since last year. Tzivin went on.
“Four years after Luft assisted FBI and Department of Justice investigators by providing them with case-related information, the arrest occurred.”
If allowed to testify, Luft might ruin Hunter Biden’s career, claims Tzivin. He responded by saying that the Biden administration is merely leveling accusations against him to damage his reputation:
“If it were Russia, this would have already resulted in a diplomatic crisis; it is reasonable to assume that the Democrats or some of their colleagues would prefer that he be removed from office.”
His testimony will be extremely damaging, and it will draw attention away from the president as well.
I’m also concerned about the potential extradition since I don’t think the US government will keep Luft secure, Tzivin continued. He claimed that since it is said that the President is looking for Luft, he might be in danger of suffering harm.
Gal Luft’s current location is still unknown to Interpol and US authorities.
