Taking to Twitter on Thursday (May 11), Elon confirmed that he had a new CEO ready to take over. While she didn’t provide a name, we do know that she will be a female.

“Excited to announce that I have a new CEO for X/Twitter. Will start in ~6 weeks,” he tweeted.

What’s next for Elon? He also answered that question!

“My role will transition to CEO and CTO, overseeing products, software, and sysops,” he explained.

Prior to this, Elon’s last big change involved removing the legacy check from the app in an effort to encourage users to opt-in to pay for the iconic blue checkmark next to his name. He later backed down on that decision to some extent and opted to pay to have some stars verified, leading to a musician calling him a “clown” as he dragged him along.
