Dutee Chand is an Indian athlete. He is a sprinter and has represented India in the Olympics and Asian Games. She is the national record holder in the 100 meter sprint.

Dutee Chand was born on 3 February 1996 (age 28 years; as in 2024). Their zodiac sign is Aquarius. He was born in Jajpur district of Odisha. He did his schooling from a local school in Chaka Gopalpur village, Odisha. He then pursued Bachelor of Laws from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar in 2013.

She was always interested in sports. During her childhood days, she used to run around the village all day; The villagers used to say that she had gone mad. On the advice of her sister, she started running along the banks of the river of her village.

Later he had to go to Patiala for advanced training. She later moved to Hyderabad to train at Pullela Gopichand Academy. Dutee Chand was born to Chakradhar Chand and Akhuji Chand. He belongs to a BPL (Below Poverty Line) family and faced many problems while growing up. His parents are weavers in Jajpur district of Odisha. Once in an interview, he revealed that his parents had only Rs. 500 per month and it was difficult to support his entire family with that income. He has 5 sisters and one brother.

At the 2016 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, she competed in the 60 m event and set an Indian national record by clocking 7.28 seconds in the qualifiers and won a bronze medal in the main event. On 25 June 2016, he broke the 100 meters national record by clocking 11.24 seconds at the 26th International Meet in Almaty, Kazakhstan. At the Rio Olympics the same year, she became the third Indian woman to participate in the women’s 100 meters sprint.

In 2017, at the Asian Athletics Championships, Bhubaneswar, she won two bronze medals, one in the women’s 100 m, the other in the women’s 4×100 m relay. At the 2018 Asian Games, Dutee won a silver medal in the women’s 100 meters final. It was Dutee’s first Asian Games medal and India’s first silver medal in the category after 32 years since PT Usha won it in 1996. On 29 August 2018, she won her second silver medal at the Asian Games in the women’s 200 meters final.
