RuPaul’s Drag Race Student Alaska is making a claim about Lea Michele following an interaction that occurred on the Grammy awards in 2017.
Alaska was asked about former contestant Princess Poppy appearing at the Emmys as a green goblin and the impact behind the stunt. That led to a discussion about the meeting with Lea.

“I love this Princess Poppy trick. I’ve been dressed in drag at some big awards shows. I went to the Grammys one year, because [fellow All Stars 2 contestant] Katya and I were invited. Celebrities are mortified by drag queens, because we represent that kind of facade. We pulled back the curtain on the facade of what Hollywood is. We make fun of it,” Alaska said in the show’s latest episode. racing hunter podcast (via E.W.).
“We are aware that this is false because we take it off at night and become a different person. But, above all, everyone who is there [thinking]”This is real, this is reality and you have to believe it or this whole thing will fall apart,” Alaska added.
Then Alaska brought up Lea’s story.
“People didn’t look us in the eye. Lea Michele looked at us and didn’t even acknowledge that we existed. Kris Jenner was there looking so angry with her life that it had come to this. She was the host of E! carpet, and she looked so miserable. But celebrities, at least back then, were mortified by drag, so I think the fact that Princess Poppy does this is a big statement because she is the sum of all fears,” Alaska added.
