Atif Aslam was born on 12 March 1983 (age 40 years; as in 2023) in Wazirabad City, Punjab, Pakistan. His zodiac sign is Pisces. He started his Kindergarten education from Kimberly Hall School, Lahore. When he moved to Rawalpindi, he studied at St. Paul’s Cambridge School, Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. On his return to Lahore, he continued his studies at the Divisional Public School. He started his FSC from Fazaiya Inter College, Lahore. He joined the Punjab Institute of Computer Science (PICS), Lahore, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

He started his career in 2002 as the lead singer of a band called “Jal”. Atif earned much of his fame through the band. The band initially found commercial success in 2003 with the song “Habit”.
After leaving the band, Atif released his first solo album “Jalpari”, which proved to be a huge hit.
He got his first break in Bollywood through Mahesh Bhatt when he approached Atif to get his approval to add his song “Woh Lamhe” in the film “Zehar (2005)”. He started his acting career in 2011 with the film “Bol”.

- Atif Aslam faced massive backlash from the audience after singing the Bollywood song “Tera Hone Laga Hoon” from the film “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani” at the Pakistan Independence Day Parade in New York. In his response to the haters who trolled him for singing an Indian song at Pakistan’s Independence Day parade, he posted a picture of him on Instagram with the words ‘No Chance to Give Up’ and wrote that he loves his haters. He further added that he is a representative of his country’s flag and his fans know how much he respects it. Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali also extended his support to Atif, saying, “The music is not Indian or Pakistani. It’s just music.”
- It was on the sets of a singing reality show “Sur Kshetra”, in which teams from India and Pakistan, captained by Atif Aslam and Himesh Reshammiya respectively, were competing against each other; Asha Bhosle was judging the show along with Abida Parveen and Runa Laila. Asha Bhosle gave her opinion on a Pakistani contestant on the show which led to a heated argument between her and Atif. Asha Bhosle walked out of the show and the makers of the show had to intervene to get Asha back on the show.
- The band, Jal’s album “Aadat” and Atif Aslam’s album “Jalpari” shared some tracks such as “Aadat,” “Bheegi Yaadein” and “Aankhon Se”, which led to a heated dispute between the members of Atif and Jal, resulting in both sides claiming ownership of the song. This dispute also reached the court. However, the court’s decision came in favor of both.
