Divya Thadigol Subbaraju was born on Monday, 14 August 1995 (age 28 years; as in 2023) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. His zodiac sign is Leo. He studied LLB from Karnataka State Law University, Hubli. Divya wanted to become a professional volleyball player since her childhood and even trained for the same, but she could not achieve her dream as she suffered an injury as a result of an accident in 2016. After the accident, Divya’s brother convinced her to try shooting.

After her accident in 2016, Divya took up sports shooting and trained under Manjunath Patagar. She progressed in her shooting career in a short time. She won several medals in the 10 meter air pistol and 25 meter sports pistol women’s events at the state championships. In 2022, he played and won the 65th National Shooting Championship at MP Academy Shooting Range in Bhopal. Later, Divya won Indian team selection and secured second place in the trails with a score of 574 in the 10 meter air pistol event.

In 2023, after finishing 5th for 3 consecutive times, Divya broke her streak and won a gold medal with Sarabjot Singh in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Final event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Baku.

In September 2023, Divya won 2 medals in the 10 m air pistol mixed team event and women’s 10 m air pistol team event at the 2022 Asian Games. Talking about his goals in an interview after the 2022 Asian Games, he said,

Next year is a big year. It is very important to keep working and get there (Paris). I am trying to qualify and preparing my best. We have very good, supportive coaches here. I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported my journey so far.”

  • During the initial days of shooting, Divya faced many financial problems regarding her training. Talking about this in an interview in 2022, he said,

    My family is helping me at the moment. I intend to compete seriously in the 25m and 50m events this year, but the costs of equipment, training, and competition are high. I use the Rifle Association’s shared weapon because I don’t own any. I have recently received my All India License, allowing me to purchase and import my own arms and ammunition.”

  • On 19 March 2022, Divya TS met with an accident, resulting in severe head injury and requiring 12 stitches. Despite her injury and blurred vision, Divya went for her first trials for the ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro on 21 March 2022 and for her second trials on 23 March 2023. In the final, Divya scored 574 and made it to the team.
