Reportedly, on 9 June 2020, she committed suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of her fiancé’s apartment in Jankalyan Nagar, Malad West. He was declared dead at a local hospital in Borivali, Mumbai. It is being told that she was suffering from depression for a long time. On June 8, 2020, she was with her fiance Rohan Rai and some more friends. His time of death was reported as 2:25 am. Jagdev Kalapad, senior inspector of Malvani police station, said in an interview,
There were six friends in total. They were drinking alcohol after dinner. Disha Salian, who was drunk, walked up to the window of the apartment from where she fell around 1 am on Tuesday.

However, according to some other media sources, it was not a suicide but a case of accidental death. Reportedly, she was in a troubled relationship with her fiancé Rohan Rai. On the day of her death, she had a fight with Rohan and had locked herself in the bathroom. After their fight, she gets very drunk and slips from the 14th floor of Rohan’s apartment.
Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi was reportedly responsible for her death and it was said that she was pregnant with Sooraj’s child. Later Suraj gave clarification on the whole matter and said,
I don’t even know Disha. I have never met him in my life. I knew about him only after his death and then later after Sushant’s death, that too through social media. I never had a conversation, I don’t know what she looked like.”
Just days after his death, on 14 June 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room. Initially it was said that Sushant had committed suicide, but the investigation took a different stage when Sushant’s father filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty. During the investigation into Sushant’s case, various media sources talked about Disha Salian’s suicide and claimed that Disha’s suicide case was related to Sushant’s case. In September 2020, Disha’s death case was reopened and CBI started investigation in her case; To know whether it is suicide or murder and to find out the connection between the case of Disha and Sushant’s death.

- Her fiance Rohan Rai talked about the tragic night when Disha reportedly committed suicide in November 2022, almost two years after her death. Apart from this, she also talked about her rumored pregnancy and relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput. Rohan said that Disha ‘mixed’ his drink that night and everything happened so fast that he didn’t even realize what was happening. He said,
We had 4 friends with us and we kept drinking for 2-3 days. Disha had mixed something in her drinks which she should not have consumed as it had a bad effect on her. His last call was to his school friend in London. Everything happened within five minutes. I took the phone from Disha to talk to my friend and she went to the master bedroom. After a few minutes I knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Since the door was not locked, I opened the door and saw that some liquor was spilled on the bed. I thought she was changing her clothes in the bathroom and went back. A few minutes later, a friend and I knocked again. After not getting any response, I went to the bathroom but she was not there. We searched the entire flat and started getting worried. We once again went inside the master bedroom and started checking the wardrobe. By this time, we were all in a state of panic. Then I noticed that the master bedroom window was open. When I looked down from there, the first thing I recognized was his pajamas lying on the ground. I got nervous and asked my friend, ‘ what is this, I started denying and slapping myself. It felt like a nightmare. Then I stood on the parapet and started thinking that I would also jump. My friends pulled me back. Within some time the police also arrived. They asked me to take off my clothes to check my body for any fight marks and also searched the house. Some of our friends took Disha to the hospital. The first two hospitals refused admission, and the third hospital, which agreed to admit him, declared him dead on arrival.”
