His journey as a basketball player started because of his brother. When Dhruv was in school, his brother used to watch the film Space Jam (1996). His brother started playing basketball and after seeing him he also started playing it. He started playing basketball when he was 6 years old. He also played football and cricket in his childhood but eventually decided to play basketball. He played at state level and won gold medal in 9th class. His basketball team was the best in Delhi and won almost all the basketball tournaments. He went to play Nationals but could not do so due to some political issues. After this he moved to Canada and later formed his own team. He was leading the league in 3-pointers. He came back to India in 2017 and played and won the 3B League and then he decided to stay in India and play further. He was rated the first FIBA 3×3 player in India. He is endorsed by Puma and is a Red Bull Global All-Star for India. In Season 2 of the Bliga, he became the Most Valuable Player in Round 2. Before 2019, he was a member of the Delhi Hoopers team. Delhi Hoopers was the dominant team in Season 1 of the 3X3BL, India’s first professional 3×3 basketball league. He won five out of six rounds in Season 1 and made several consecutive World Tour Masters event appearances. His excellent performances also earned him a place to represent the league at the World Tour Finals held in Beijing. He was also a part of the 3X3 Pro Basketball League. Not only this, he has also played for Chandigarh Challengers team.
