Cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu took to Twitter to question the law and order situation in Punjab. He tweeted,
Law and order in Punjab has completely collapsed, while the Chief Minister is busy seeking votes in the cold winds of Himachal.. 2 more brutal murders in Patiala today. People are in panic due to an average of 3-4 murders every day. The best way to discharge your duty is to stay away from it.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh also wrote on Twitter,
The recent increase in incidents of violence in Punjab is extremely worrying. @PunjabPoliceInd is fully capable of dealing with these situations, if given free rein to take strict action by @PunjabGovtIndia. No one should be allowed to disturb the hard-earned peace of Punjab.
