THIS IS LONG SO KEEP ON WITH ME 💚 I realize I have said very little about my experience on Wicked and that is mostly because I have been keeping my head down and undermining this beautiful and complex being that is Elphaba, and it really is hard to put into words,” Cynthia wrote on Instagram.

She continued, “It’s the 111th day and we finished filming ‘I’m Not That Girl’ yesterday and as we came to the end of that moment, my heart opened and tears fell. (Keep in mind this happens OFTEN) I thought of us, who often feel like we are outside. Those who don’t know that their differences, quirks, quirks are what make them beautiful and special. Those who, for whatever reason, believe they can’t be loved and I was proud to sing a song that could speak to those feelings.”

“I am infinitely grateful to be playing a role that changes the notion of what beauty is, I am infinitely grateful to be working with some of the most beautiful souls on the planet, and I am already mourning the day our little bubble must arrive. until the end. end. I desperately hope that when you finally see this movie, you’ll see you, you’ll see me, you’ll see Jon and Ari and our naked hearts, you’ll see pain and joy and maybe just maybe you’ll see a little spark of light that says, you You are who you are for a reason and you deserve happiness and while it can be hard to find at times, it’s there for you to take,” said Cynthia. Finally, relax in a theater with a snack, a drink and hopefully, friends you bring or find while you’re there.

It’s interesting that Cynthia chose to share a photo from the part 2 script to talk about filming “I’m Not That Girl” as that song in part 1 should be!
