Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Give the Quagsire series some much-needed love by introducing a new evolution of Wooper: Clodsire. According to the Pokédex, Paldean Wooper and Clodsire were originally a Water/Earth evolution, Poison/Earth-type Pokémon that began living on land after losing their territories in the oceans in the region. For the most part, Clodsire and Quagsire remain relatively similar, but their subtle differences raise the question of which is better for Wooper’s evolution.
Living up to Quagsire Evolution’s reputation has not been easy. While not particularly powerful Pokémon, both Wooper and Quagsire have become fan favorites. Pokémon community with empty smiles and empty eyes. However, Clodsire – and Paldean Wooper – have garnered a similar level of affection. After the two announced their participation in Generation 9, they came together in a way that only Pokémon Scarlet and VioletLeschonk.
Clodsire is a better Pokémon evolution than Quagsire
While both Quagsire and Clodsire are cute, Clodsire has an edge over its predecessor. Aside from the cuter brown and legless design, Clodsire’s typing and stat distribution make it more fun and viable in combat than Quagsire. Thus, Clodsire is a more valuable Pokémon than Quagsire and can evolve into Wooper.
Clodsire’s Pokémon stats and typing are stronger
Both Quagsire and Clodsire have a total stat of 430, but Clodsire’s stat distribution makes it a more useful Pokémon than before. Quagsire’s attribute distribution is quite even, HP 95, attack and defense 85, special attack and defense 65, speed 35. In contrast, Clodsire has more specialized attributes, spending most of it out of his 430 attribute points for 130 HP, 100 special defense and 75 attack. This comes at the expense of its defense, exceptional defense, and speed, but the cost is worth it. These stats make Clothier a Pokémon stronger than it looks and excellent as a tank in battle. Its lower speed makes it even a more reliable defensive Pokémon than Quagsire.
Clodsire’s typing also makes good use of its stats. Being of the Poison/Earth type makes Clodsire invulnerable to Electric Shock and reduces damage from Battle, Poison, Bug, Rock, and Fairy types. This allows Clodsire to make the most of his powerful HP and special defense. Technically, Quagisre is less prone to typing than Clodsire, but it’s actually four times more vulnerable to Grass attacks than Quagsire’s mediocre HP can’t protect it from. Best of all, the ability to absorb water completely eliminates Clodsire’s water weakness.
In general, Clodsire contributes to better development Pokémon Scarlet and VioletThe Paldean Wolverine. Between stats and typing, Klozray can be used as a tank with more confidence than Quigghire. Even so, both are at the top PokémonThe cutest absent-minded Pokemon.
