Chris Pine in legal battle with neighbor over Ficus trees in LA Yard

A clump of ficus trees is causing legal trouble between Chris Pine and one of his Los Angeles neighbors.

According to TMZ, the Star Trek The star is being sued by her neighbor, identified as music lawyer Helen Yu, over tree roots allegedly infiltrating her backyard. In her legal documents, Yu claims that Pine had a dozen ficus trees planted on the edge of her house.

This is not the first time the attorney has sued Chris Pine. He previously served legal papers on the actor in 2022. He then filed a lawsuit alleging that her fence was encroaching on his side of the property line.

Yu originally sought $267,000 through his lawsuit with Pine. In particular, she is willing to give him $75,000 for her lawsuit, and she notes that her insurance will arrange the funds.

However, after Chris Pine decided not to settle, Yu changed his settlement amount to $346,000. The funds will cover the cost of repairing all damage to his property. He also wants $225,000 from Pine for emotional distress. In total, he wants $571,000.
