Chris Evans weighed in on some viral comments that famed director Quentin Tarantino made about the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year.
In an appearance at 2 bears 1 cave In a December 2022 podcast, Quentin opined that MCU actors “are not movie stars.”
“Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a million times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become stars,” he explained.
At that point, several actors from the blockbuster cinematic universe stepped in, including one of Quentin’s friends and a central actor in the cast.
Months after the fact, Chris reacted to the comments and revealed his position. His answer might surprise you.

“That was the beauty of working on Marvel movies. You never really had to be front and center. Even sometimes in your own movies,” Chris said during an interview with GQ.
He proceeded to reference Quentin’s quote and said, “You know, he’s right. The character is the star. You are there, but you do not feel its burden.”
Elsewhere in the interview, the Captain America actor explained why he didn’t feel like a movie star, but hinted that one of his MCU co-stars fit the bill.
