Chandrani Murmu was born on 16 June 1994 (age 25 years; as in 2019) in Tikargumura village, Odisha. His zodiac sign is Gemini. He did his schooling from a local school in Keonjhar, Odisha. After this he did B.Tech. Studied. from Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Bhubaneswar in 2017. After completing B.Tech., she was looking for a job as a mechanical engineer, but did not find any job. After searching for a job for a year, he decided to apply for government jobs. He applied as Probationary Officer in Banks and Assistant Section Officer in Government of Odisha.

Once when his uncle, Harmohan Soren was on tour, he suggested him to join politics and contest the 2019 general elections from Keonjhar constituency. He took it as a joke and didn’t think much about it. The next day, her uncle tells her that he is serious, and that there is a good chance that she can win; So, she agreed. His uncle was a retired man and a social worker. He knew many members of BJD. He held a meeting with Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and both of them met him on 1 April 2019.

On 2 April 2019, his name was announced as the BJD candidate from Keonjhar constituency for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. On 23 May 2019, she was declared the winner from Keonjhar constituency, making her the youngest ever Member of Parliament in India.

  • On 6 April, BJP members accused Chandrani of fraud. He revealed that his father’s name in his nomination papers was different from his voter ID card and the name of his college. Chandrani clarified that her father’s real name was Sanjeeb Murmu. His voter ID card mentioned Sinha as did some official documents. He also clarified that Karthik Chandra Soren was his local guardian and due to a clerical error his local guardian was declared as his father.
  • In April 2019, a distorted video and some objectionable photographs of her surfaced online on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. He lodged a complaint with the police and the police arrested the accused. Police said that the video and pictures are fake. These were being broadcast to damage the reputation of Chandrani Murmu.
