Cate Blanchett is ready for new opportunities.
The 54 year old man Tar the actress was sincere in the Cannes Film Festival 2023 in a conversation with Variety.
During the conversation, he admitted that he is “always trying to stop acting.”

“I’m always trying to stop acting,” he said in conversation while introducing his new movie, The new boy.
“I’ve been trying to quit acting my whole professional life.”
He went on to talk about his work as a producer, which he said “feels (like) an extension, to me, of my work as an actor.”
He added that some of his film work “involves me being in front of the lens,” but “sometimes it’s behind it.” [the lens]” where she gets “a little too bossy”.

He also revealed his 2020 miniseries. lady america it’s where she and her producing partner Coco Francini first met and decided to advance that “you have to interview a woman and you have to interview a person of color.”
“We’ve both had experiences where we walk on set and do the math and wonder why you feel a little alienated and upset some days,” he said.
“I realize that I am the only woman in the cast… there are 62 men and yes, I am the only woman. This relationship is bad. It’s really disproportionate. And it means you’re always laughing at the same jokes. I have a really good sense of humor, but it’s like, let’s change it.”
“I look forward to the day when we don’t even need to have interviews about women in film,” she continued.
