Candace Cameron Bure says she had a near-death experience while filming the sequel to the beloved comedy. Full house. The actress said that she almost died in an accident on the set in Most complete house.
Bure spoke about the accident with her former co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber on the How rude, Tanneritos! podcast (via the New York Post). The TV star said she “almost died” when a stunt she was rehearsing for the series went wrong. It all has to do with a faulty zipline in question.
In the episode, Bure’s DJ Tanner was going to do an obstacle course in Tanner’s living room. It was a zip line for the trick. However, Bur said the specialist team did not install the zip line correctly. The camera crew that followed her ended up missing her by just an inch.
“During the trial, the equipment was not set up correctly and there was no safety stop at the end,” he said. “So when I landed off the zip line and stopped, the whole mechanism, which is all metal and very, very heavy, slid off the track and came right next to my head about an inch.”
“It dented the floor,” Barber also added.
“If I had just shifted my weight a little bit, I probably would have broken my neck, like it would have landed right on top of my head,” Bure added. “The specialist was fired. AND [the director] It was like, ‘We’re not doing this stunt.’ Like, redo the whole set, because we won’t do that trick anymore.’”
Candace Cameron Bure says she is a victim of cancel culture
Bure also said she has been taking figurative hits as well. The actor talked about people who try to cancel her because of her beliefs.
“I’ve taken hits before in my industry, but it was at a level I hadn’t experienced yet and it’s been very challenging,” he said at the Candace Cameron Bure Podcast. “Cancel culture is very real and they were trying to cancel me.”
He said he’s handled a lot in recent years.
“So when I took a lot of these bullets in the last year, they were very challenging for me personally, for my heart, for my character, for my relationships, for my jobs.” she said. “You have to be prepared to have some of those fiery darts thrown at you on a larger public platform.”
