He is married and the couple has two sons and a daughter. Talking about his family in an interview, he said,
I come from a small village in Birbhum. My family is very happy with the success of the song. Whenever I leave home to go somewhere, for example, now that I have come here to Kolkata for a concert, my wife gets very upset (laughs). My son is also worried about how I will travel and where I will stay. But I believe that if God has shown you a path, God will also guide you in it.

While selling raw almonds or peanuts along with other items at his ration, he used to sing the Kachha Badam song based on the Baul folk tune to attract customers.
Later someone recorded his song and uploaded it on social media. Soon, people started making Instagram reels on the song and it went viral in India and other countries. The song gained immense popularity in 2022 after Indian model Anjali Arora made a lip-sync video on the song.

In the same year, music production label Godhulibela Music released a remix version of Kachcha Badam featuring Bhuban. He got Rs. After Rs 3 lakh for the song, netizens started raising questions whether the original singer got remuneration for the song. Godhulibela Music owner while talking to reporters said,
We made a deal of Rs 3 lakh with Bhuban da today and he was paid Rs 1.5 through cheque. The remaining payment will be made to them next week. Because of that it took a long time. I am very happy to see that so many important people have liked my songs and want more such songs from me. I was in Kolkata recently and it was my second visit to the city. The love and appreciation I received brought tears to my eyes.”

In 2022, he was also invited to perform in various stage shows in Kolkata. Even the West Bengal Police helped him. Talking about this during an interview, he said,
I feel privileged. Never thought I would reach this far. God’s grace. Never thought like this even in my dreams. I just made the song, never thought it would be so highlighted. The best part is that I am no longer just a peanut seller. People see me as a musician and it is a proud moment not only for me but also for my village. I experienced a lot of things these past few weeks. I have to admit that sometimes meditation leaves me in an awkward position. I am not used to this popularity. But I am happy and looking for a better future for my family with the help of my musical talent.

In February 2022, he was featured in the TV show Dadagiri Unlimited Season 9 by former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly.

In an interview, he shared that earlier, he used to sing spiritual songs with the singing group Baul Team. he adds,
It all started last year when I learned from a scrap dealer in Dubrajpur that things like broken cell phones, old fake jewelry or even human hair could be sold at a good price. I decided to buy these scraps from people in exchange for peanuts. This inspired me to create a song that would be close to people and they could relate to. A buyer recorded me singing and uploaded it on social media. I didn’t realize that so many people would like my song so much. At last God showered his blessings on me.”
