In 2021, the couple met through acquaintances. In February 2022, they started a relationship. Two months later, the couple officially announced their relationship on Instagram. After 9 months of dating, the couple got engaged on Tuesday, November 29 in the presence of both parents. Kendall confirmed their engagement via Instagram the next day. A month ago, Bachelorette Kendall Long revealed that she and boyfriend Mitchell Sage were moving to Germany for a “new adventure”.

Kendall’s search for love began during season 22 of The Bachelor when she developed feelings for Arie Luyendyk Jr. She appeared on Season 5 of Bachelor in Paradise after leaving the show with a broken heart falling in love with Joe Amabile. However, after two years of dating, the couple broke up in 2020. Joe was unhappy in Los Angeles so they broke up. He wants to go back to Chicago. Kendall opened up about her breakup on the Down to Date podcast:
“Ultimately, Joe believes he’ll have a better life in Chicago.” He also craves his friends and family.
Kendall later met Mitchell at a party in December 2021 through mutual friends. Kendall told BachelorNation.com of their first meeting:
“We met at a pre-match party through a mutual friend!”
Mitchell recalls how they met, saying he was playing volleyball with a mutual friend, and that one night they all went to Hermosa Beach with a few others. It was there that he first met Kendall. The two were able to “talk without loud music or anything” because the party wasn’t too loud. “Just before Christmas and the day before Mitch’s birthday,” the couple met. Mitchell was immediately attracted to Kendall because of their interest in science. According to Bachelor Nation alumni:
“What immediately drew me to him was that we were talking about aliens and space, and I was talking about this moon beyond Jupiter that could potentially be inhabited by extraterrestrial life. .” And he said, “That’s Europe.” And I’m surprised he knows the name of that month! It’s unusual for me to meet someone as passionate about science as I am.”
In February 2022, Kendall and Mitchell began dating. In April, the Bachelor Nation alum announced her relationship on Instagram, telling her followers that she was “in love”. Mitchell proposed to Kendall on the same beach where they first met. Kendall told Us Weekly in May of the proposal:
“On Valentine’s Day at Hermosa Beach, he asked me to be his girlfriend, a sweet little arrangement.”
The couple even planned a European tour together, starting in Ireland in the summer of 2022. Kendall later informed her Instagram followers that she and Mitchell would be moving to Germany to start a new beginning. The couple took their relationship to the next level by proposing to each other in front of their parents. Thomas Jacobs, Tia Booth, Dean Unglert, Astrid Loch Wendt, Abigail Heringer, Katie Morton, Adam Gottschalk and Becca Tilley were among the Bachelor Nation alumni who congratulated the happy couple.
