The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has decided not to file charges against Armie Hammer for an alleged sexual assault.
The alleged rape was first reported by a woman who identified herself as “Effie” in February 2021.

The prosecutor’s office said (via Variety): “In this case, those prosecutors conducted an extremely thorough review, but determined that there is insufficient evidence at this time to charge Mr. Hammer with a crime. As prosecutors, we have an ethical responsibility to prosecute only cases that we can prove beyond a reasonable doubt… Due to the complexity of the relationship and the inability to prove a forced, non-consensual sexual encounter, we are unable to prove the case further. . beyond a reasonable doubt. doubt.”

Armie posted on Instagram: “I am very grateful to the prosecutor for conducting a thorough investigation and coming to the conclusion that I have stood my ground all this time, that no crime was committed. I look forward to beginning what will be a long and difficult process of rebuilding my life now that my name is clear.” He added: “I would like to say a very special thank you to all the people who have helped me get through this moment. If you don’t know, in early 2021 Armie made headlines after some of his alleged DMs were leaked online.
In one of the direct messages, supposedly sent by Armie, he reportedly said, “I’m 100% cannibal.” One of her exes revealed some graphic things he told her about eating her and another revealed about the “rape” she allegedly did without her consent.
