Ariana DeBose works without a script for the Tony Awards 2023so the show started with a dance number!
The 32-year-old Oscar-winning actress will host the show on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theater in Washington Heights, N.Y.
Ariana opened the show by taking a look at a script that had blank pages before beginning with a dance number that was performed throughout the theater and ended on stage.
After the presentation, Ariana addressed the audience and explained what is happening with the writers’ strike and how it has affected the Tonys.
