Ozzy Osbourne is an English rock and roll legend who rose to fame in the 1970s as the frontman for the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Osbourne’s drug use and alcoholism led to his ouster from Black Sabbath in 1979. He went on to have a successful solo career, with seven of his 12 studio albums receiving multi-platinum certifications.
Sharon Osbourne mostly stayed out of the spotlight after marrying her rock star husband. She became a household name in the early 2000s for starring on the reality show, The Osbournes. Sharon later became a talent show judge on TV shows like The X Factor and america’s got talent.
This piece will look at Sharon and Ozzy’s relationship. We can confirm that they are still married.
Sharon and Ozzy started dating after he left Black Sabbath and she became his manager.
Sharon and Ozzy met when he was the lead vocalist for Black Sabbath. They met courtesy of Sharon’s father, who was the manager of Black Sabbath at the time. The couple began dating after Ozzy left the band in 1979 and Sharon took over the management of her solo career.
Ozzy and Sharon were married on July 4, 1982 in Maui, Hawaii. On July 4, 2020, Ozzy shared photos of the couple’s island marriage on Instagram as he wished Sharon a happy anniversary. A lot has changed since Ozzy and Sharon were married thirty-eight years ago, but their love for each other remains. Sharon said Eastern Time:
“The idea of not being with him is unthinkable. As the years go by you get closer. When a romance starts, it’s lust, it’s love, and it’s all: shit and laughs. It is a different love. As they get older and things change in their lives, it becomes a different love.”
Sharon and Ozzy’s marriage produced three children: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.

Sharon and Ozzy got married when he was at the height of his drug use. Ozzy would come home high on a drug cocktail and start arguments with Sharon, which often escalated into dangerous fights. The couple had terrifying fights, which almost ended fatally. Ozzy once knocked out Sharon’s front teeth, causing her to retaliate by hitting him over the head with a full bottle of Scotch.
It could be argued that the intent was to harm and not kill, but an incident in 1989 had all the elements of murder. Drugged, Ozzy decided that ‘Sharon had to die’. He then lunged at her and began to choke her. Fortunately, Sharon pushed the panic button and the police arrived before Ozzy choked her to death.
After Ozzy woke up the next day in a police cell, he had no memory of his murderous intent the night before. Ozzy revealed in his documentary, Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne:
“All I remember is waking up in Amersham jail and asking the policeman: ‘Why am I here? And he says, ‘Do you want me to read your indictment?’ Then he read: ‘John Michael Osbourne, has been arrested for the attempted murder of Sharon Osbourne.’ I was very surprised that he dropped the charges.”
Sharon surprised everyone when she dropped the charges against her husband and welcomed him back into her life after spending six months in a treatment center. She revealed in the documentary that she weighed her options and concluded that staying with Ozzy was her best option. Fortunately, Ozzy came out of treatment a different man. Sharon said:
“I hated being without him. Ozzy was very scared when he came out and when he was in the house, he definitely saw what he was doing. He scared himself.
The couple briefly broke up after Sharon discovered Ozzy’s affair with his hairdresser Michelle Pugh.
In 2016, Sharon and Ozzy broke up after she found out about his affair with stylist Michelle Pugh. Ozzy’s carelessness led to the discovery after he sent a text meant for Pugh to Sharon. “And I just need time to think,” Sharon said in The conversation. “Because I am 63 years old and I cannot continue living like this.”
Ozzy apologized to Sharon and showed his desire to reconcile with her by entering sex therapy. The couple reunited four months after their split and have been going strong ever since. Sharon has been instrumental in helping Ozzy deal with his recent health issues. Ozzy talked to Rolling Stone on how important Sharon is to him:
“I made my wife angry and my family angry and it caused me a lot of shock and shame. I love my wife, and she made me realize what a jerk I’ve been. I guess it’s fair to say we love each other. I love her and she loves me. There is no other woman I really want to spend the rest of my life with. You make a mistake and you learn from it.”
