Thanks to the recent game update, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has recreated the Silent Hill 3 bread scene, cosplaying in-game as Heather Mason. Silent Hill 3‘s infamous bread moment has become a meme in the years since the game first released, making its way across every corner of the internet, and now it’s finally become a meme in Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons players are enjoying the recently-released 2.0 update, which introduces new features, characters, quality-of-life improvements, and more. The game update went live ahead of its original November 5 release date, launching more than a day before and giving fans a chance to explore the new additions ahead of schedule. New gameplay features include mystery boat tours, the shopping Plaza, cooking, and farming, with a new focus on food being a highlight for many. As expected, the slew of new content has already led to the creation of a number of popular AC memes shared across social media as players discover all the latest Animal Crossing items.
Redditor Mysterious_Age_2228 has impressed the Silent Hill subreddit with their recreation of the Silent Hill 3 meme. In the original game, when in Helen’s Bakery, Heather can interact with the store’s stock where she simply comments: “it’s bread.” The “it’s bread” meme is made possible in Animal Crossing thanks to the new basket of bread item, one of many additions from the 2.0 update. The creator has placed a few bread baskets in their home, added an “it’s bread” thought-bubble to their character, and dressed in a custom SH3-inspired outfit in order to recreate the meme. Creating the post appears to be something of a dream come true for the Redditor, who seems to have been waiting for bread in Animal Crossing for a while. They titled the post: “I have waited for long for this. Its [sic] bread.“

The Animal Crossing meme creator isn’t the only person who’s been waiting for bread to come to the game. Bakeries and restaurants have been popular builds for players to create since New Horizons launched, but a lack of food items meant fans needed to get creative. A common way to “make bread” in ACNH was using designed hats, which could look similar to food baskets with custom designs. This is likely to be a thing of the past thanks to the new update, which doesn’t only add different decorative food-related items, but also the ability to cook and display meals.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans can expect to see an increase in both player numbers and player designs thanks to the 2.0 update. Along with bread and foods, the 2.0 update has added over 9,000 new Animal Crossing items to the catalog, with a range of themes and styles to suit almost any island build. With so the update being so substantial, players can expect to see more fan-made content than ever, whether it be updated restaurants and bakery builds, or meme recreations.
