Early life
Angry Grandpa’s real name is Charles Marvin Green Jr., born on October 16, 1950. And he died in December 10, 2017at the age of 67. She was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, near Sherwood Forest. Likewise, he was the son of Sgt. Charles Marvin Green Sr., sergeant in World War II, and Dorothy Mae Green.
He worked as a firefighter for the North Charleston Fire Department. Aside from that, he also worked several other jobs, such as a maintenance worker, and even owned small businesses.

Career
Angry Grandpa posted his first video back in 2010, just as the joys of YouTube began to spread. Angry Grandpa was this visionary who recognized the potential of the Internet early on. From the first video, he established his trademark with this furious rant against YouTube. Therefore, he deleted the original video of him for using inappropriate language.
The following videos followed Charlie in his everyday activities, such as cooking, watching movies, and driving his car. From these mundane activities, he pulled out short, viewer-worthy videos in which he fails at word association games, digs up things from his neighbors’ trash, and even tries, unsuccessfully, to experiment with banned substances.

There was a video of his family celebrating his birthday, him with his cat, and even raging at his wife. Little by little, Charlie got carried away by the trend of making jokes and it soon became his favorite pastime. He also used to make regular videos of ranting against Justin Beiber and even gave lovely reactions against all those hate comments that he received like a boss.
Almost always the man behind the camera is his youngest son, Michael, who often plans and executes funny pranks on Grandpa himself. One time, when Grandpa was having a yard sale, Michael provoked one of Grandpa’s fits of rage by repeatedly calling the garbage can, which seemed to irritate Grandpa greatly!
In one of the channel’s most popular videos, Michael tried to surprise Grandpa by jumping out of the bathtub. And he threw a bag of flour at him, but Grandpa outsmarted him and threw a jar of pickle juice at him and baptized him with the name PICKLEBOY, a name that has stuck with him ever since. Even his girlfriend, Bridgette Nicole West, has been named PickleGirl, keeping her in line with Michael’s.

The channel’s most popular video is the classic Angry Grandpa where he smashes Michaels’ coffee table along with a relatively new PS4 console! It’s understandable since he expected Michael to come and help him bake Christmas cookies, which he couldn’t do. The video so far has around 28 million views!
In addition to the original YouTube channel, Charlie has a second one called Grandpa’s Corner. On Grandpa’s Corner, Charlie primarily posts vlogs and also hosts a Mailbox Monday segment. He opens fan mail every Monday and addresses them personally. There are almost no angry complaints on this channel which has around 750,000 subscribers to date.
His charismatic personality is so great that he has appeared on several top-rated television talk shows and websites, including Dr. Drew, MTV’s Pranked, TruTV’s Most Shocking, Rude Tube, and Break.com, respectively. His videos have appeared on other YouTube channels such as Ray William Johnson’s.
Some of the channel’s videos have over 15 million views, making the channel a huge source of income for the retired firefighter. It is estimated that his earnings from the channel alone are around $1 million. In addition to YouTube earnings, he has sponsorships and product feature deals. And he has recently branched out into the field of merchandising, raising his net worth to a whopping $2 million in 2017.

Angry Grandpa’s USP
Grandpa’s reaction to everything in life is that of this bitter old man who has seen it all and is just waiting for the end. He is rude, loud and destructive. But he somehow brings all of these character flaws together into a circle that also tells a story of vulnerability. The two videos on his channel are a true testament to this statement.
The first is when his son Michael reveals to Grandpa his new home and the second is when he reveals that he has gotten Grandpa the car of his dreams. The display of emotions is simply moving and is sure to touch the heart of the viewer.
Michael and his father share a very special relationship that is very evident in the videos. Jokes were made constantly and Grandpa yelled like crazy because of Michael’s comments. However, it is Michael who is responsible for turning his father into the Internet celebrity that he is and is very interested in fulfilling his dreams and aspirations.
Personal life
Angry Grandpa was married to Tina Green from 1980 until 2012, when they divorced. He was survived by children named Charles Green III, Jennifer, Kimberly and Michael. And he has a total of 6 grandchildren. He suffers from bipolar disorder and takes medication regularly. He has also suffered a Hernia for which he had to undergo surgery.
In February 2017, in a video, it was announced that Charles was diagnosed with skin cancer. His channel came out with the statement and also announced that despite everything they will continue uploading videos. Sadly, he died of cirrhosis on December 10, 2017 at his home in Summerville, South Carolina.
