Aishwarya Verma is a resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He completed B.Tech in Electrical Engineering and after that he prepared for UPSC exam. Despite being an electrical engineer, he chose Geography as his optional subject instead of Electrical Engineering for the UPSC exam. His hard work paid off and he became the fourth topper of the UPSC exam held in 2021.

- After clearing UPSC, he was asked what was his reaction when the results came. He said,
It took me some time to digest this information. Happy to see my name at number four in the merit list. The talk about studying continuously for 16-16 hours a day is not right.
- After the announcement of results everyone read the list of toppers and called it that. Twitter lauded girl power for all the top four ranked women. After this, a journalist clarified by tweeting that Aishwarya Verma, who stood fourth, is a male candidate.

- In a short interview with Aaj Tak, she also spoke about how she was teased for her name since childhood and said,
People always teased me because of my name. I always tried to explain this to everyone. I had thought that when I grow up, one day I will come on TV and tell people that my name is Aishwarya and not Aishwarya.
