Beran stood near the statues of the gods Mortis: father, son and daughter. The three entities represent different aspects of the Force; the daughter represents the light side, the son represents the dark side, and the father maintains the balance of the Force. Their deaths during the Clone Wars symbolized the Force being out of balance, and it was strongly suggested that Anakin Skywalker’s fate was somehow tied to Mortis.
