School is back in session! The hit ABC show Abbott Elementary will return on February 7. Fans of the show are clamoring for the season premiere. The 2023 SAG-Aftra strike postponed the season 3 premiere.
The show usually premieres in September, around the same time school starts. On January 31, the latest trailer for the show was released and it was not missed. With excitement building as we get closer to season 3, fans became even more excited after watching the trailer.
Quinta Bronson details her love for ‘Abbott’
While Abbott Elementary may have had a longer hiatus than usual, that hasn’t stopped the program from continuing to rack up awards. Quinta Brunson, the show’s star and creator, won her first Emmy Award last month. She won Best Comedy Actress for her role as Janine Teagues.
During his acceptance speech, Brunson detailed how much he loves working on the show.
“Thank you so much. I love doing ‘Abbott Elementary’. And I’m so happy to be able to live my dream and do a comedy. I say that every time. I love comedy. I’m so happy to be able to do this,” Brunson said.
“I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my whole family very much. I love my husband. I’m so happy. I love my cast. I love ‘Abbott Elementary’. Thank you so much.”
Abbott Elementary actor gives a sneak peek at season 3
Since Abbott Elementary is set in a Philadelphia elementary school, one would expect it to be an action-packed show. But what makes the show so special is its brand of satirical comedy that has drawn comparisons to ‘The Office.’ It is also very unpredictable. Guests on the show range from Taraji P. Henson to NBA champion Andre Iguodala.
Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, this season will be significantly shorter at only 14 episodes. But actor Tyler James Williams, who plays Gregory, says that has improved the content of the upcoming season.
“There is always movement. It’s just a question of which direction… It’s going somewhere. I don’t know if you’re going to like where this is going. “I don’t know if it necessarily moves forward or backward or laterally, but it moves,” Williams said.
“It is a very live situation that they cannot ignore because they are obviously co-workers. It’s just a matter of which direction the writers decide to make that move happen. And this year there have been many stunts. I’ll put it that way.”
