Aarti Holla-Maini is an Indian-born British-Belgian satellite industry expert who was appointed the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) on 26 June 2023.

Aarti Holla-Manny is from the United Kingdom. He did a course in Anglo-German Law from King’s College London (1988–1992). He received a Diploma in German Law from the University of Passau, Germany (1990–1991). Later, he attended the University of Law in Moorgate, England, where he did the Legal Practice Course (1992–1993). He did an MBA exchange program at NYU Stern School of Business in New York, USA from 1995 to 1996. He received an MBA from HEC Paris in Jouy-en-Josas, France. In 2021, he did an executive space course at the International Space University Illkirch-Grafenstaden, France. She later lived in Brussels with her husband and children.

In September 1993, she joined the Prichard Englefield law firm as a trainee solicitor; He worked there until 1995. He qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court in the UK in 1995. In January 1997, he began working at Daimler-Benz Aerospace/EADS (now Airbus) in Germany. In 2000, she moved to Munich, Brussels to represent Airbus’s interests in the European satellite navigation programme: Galileo. In May 2004, he resigned from Airbus as business development manager. In September 2004, she joined the EMEA Satellite Operators Association (ESOA), which was rebranded as the Global Satellite Operators Association (GSOA) in 2021, and retired as its Secretary General in January 2023. At GSOA, Arti led its expansion from a European association. One that represents the interests of 22 global and regional satellite operators.

In September 2004, she became founding chair of Orbitz Consulting in Brussels. Orbitz Consulting provides consulting services to clients in the space and satellite industry. In April 2023, she became Executive Vice President of Sustainability, Policy and Impact at Northstar Earth & Space in Brussels. Aarti has rich experience in various roles related to space. He has served as a member of the WEF Global 5G Coalition Network, the WEF Essential Digital Infrastructure and Services Network, and WEF’s Global Future Council on Space. She has also been a member of the Advisory Group of the Space Sustainability Rating, managed by eSpace at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) Space Centre. Additionally, she has been part of the advisory board of the Satellite Industry Association of India. He has worked as Senior Space Policy Advisor at Forum Europe and as Expert Advisor for the European Union Study on Space Traffic Management from 2021 to 2023. He played a key role in the development of the Crisis Connectivity Charter in 2015. This charter focuses on emergency telecommunications via satellite with the World Food Programme’s Emergency Telecommunications Cluster.
