Zulfikar Jabbar Khan is a Pakistani musician and producer. He produced Coke Studio Season 14 in 2022. He composed the 5th Pakistan Super League anthem “Tyar Hain Hum”. He is the founder of the production company “Giraffe Pakistan”.

Zulfikar Jabbar Khan was born on Tuesday, 28 October 1980 (age 43 years; as in 2023) in Lahore, Pakistan. Their zodiac sign is Scorpio. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences in Lahore.
During his college days, he fell and suffered from a slipped disc which left him bedridden for two months; He claims that when he composed music on his computer it was a life-changing experience for him. In an interview he said
In those two months of being bedridden, I made an entire instrumental album, it was called The Lifeless Journey and I called myself Silence. Because silence was all I could feel.”
It was in college where he met actor and singer, Fawad Khan, rhythm guitarist, Hassan Khalid and drummer, Waqar Khan and formed a band called Paradigm.

He has been a part of music bands like Entity Paradigm and Call. In Entity Paradigm Band, Ahmed Ali Butt, Hassan Khalid, Salman Albert, Sajjad Ali Khan and Fawad Khan were the other members and composed one album Iritka; Which included songs like Always, Waqt, Kahan Hai Tu etc. in 2003.
In 2003, he joined the rock band “Call”, Junaid Khan and Sultan Raja were the other members of the band. He has made two albums, Jilavatan (2005) and Dhoom (2011). The soundtracks created under this band were featured in the Bollywood films Aloo Chaat, Ek Chalis Ki Last Local and Aasma. He has also composed the patriotic songs “Humse Hai Yeh Zamana” and “Aasmaan”. He has composed many albums like Inteha’s album Dastaan and Ankur Tiwari’s album Jannat.
He reunited with the band Entity Paradigm and performed in Pepsi Battle of the Bands season two.

He produced the team anthem “Hum Zalmi” for Pakistan Super League team Peshawar Zalmi. She made a video song “Rang Do” to spread awareness about planting trees in collaboration with World Wide Fund for Nature- Pakistan. Zulfi composed and produced the official PSL anthem named “Tayar Hain” for the 5th edition of the Pakistan Super League. The song featured Haroon, Asim Azhar, Ali Azmat and Arif Lohar. The song received heavy criticism from listeners, especially on social media.

He formed an all-kids band that made a cover of the song “Pyar Diyaan Gallan” in the Nescafe basement.

Stealing the Melody for Coke Studio Season 14
20-year-old female artist Nirmala Maghani claimed that Zulfikar Jabbar Khan stole her tune for the song “Tu Jhoom” from Coke Studio Season 14 and sent her a legal notice of Rs 100 million, claiming the copyright of the song. According to reports, she claimed that she had sent the sample audio to Zulfikar Jabbar Khan on WhatsApp, from which he stole the tune and changed the lyrics to create the song. In an interview he said
After listening to the song I kept calling Zulfi and after a day she finally replied saying ‘I haven’t even downloaded your audio file,’ which is not true as all my messages were received with blue ticks. ‘

I am grateful and humbled to receive requests from many talented artists for collaborations from all over Pakistan, as have many producers before me. However, I cannot say that my work for Coke Studio is borrowed from such shared samples that I received. I hope I will have the privilege of hearing Nirmala Manghani’s songs in person and possibly get a chance to come together for further collaborations: Our young talented artists across Pakistan are our future.
