“I’m almost going through my teenage angst phase now because I didn’t have time to do it before,” she said. “I felt pushed into a very adult position: I was becoming the breadwinner for my family very early on, and a lot of role changes happened and I just grew up.”

She also added that the demand for perfection as a child star has affected her confidence as a more experienced actress.
