Zak lost his Super Bowl ring
DeOssie suffered a major setback in 2018 when he inadvertently lost his two Super Bowl title rings. The horrific event took place on May 2nd outside the Grand Summit Hotel, right after the successful America Needs You event ended. At first unaware of the loss, DeOssie and his wife found the missing rings and launched an all-out search, turning their home upside down and combing the car, hotel parking lot and neighboring areas. Furthermore, on May 6, they submitted a report to the police in which they described the long-term search for expensive items.
Fortunately, a neighbor spotted one of the rings on the side of the neighboring street during his morning walk. The ring, however tarnished, was discovered beneath the remains of the Super Bowl box. Despite the partial recovery, the search for the second ring continues. White gold diamond rings are thought to be worth hundreds of dollars.
The rings bear DeOssie’s name and honor the Super Bowl seasons of 2007 and 2011. The loss prompted him to try to replace the lost ring through insurance.
