Marla Adams, known for her 37 years as matriarch of the Abbott family, Dina Abbott Mergeron, in The Young and the Restless, has died. Adams was 85 years old.

Marla Adams entered the world on August 28, 1938 in picturesque Ocean City, New Jersey. She earned the title of Miss Diamond Jubilee during her hometown’s 75th anniversary celebration in 1954, a testament to her charm and grace.
Following this achievement, he graduated from Ocean City High School two years later, in 1956.
After spending two years studying at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she was chosen to The visitunder the direction of Peter Brook, immediately after graduation.
He first appeared on the big screen in the 1961 classic, Splendor in the grassstarring alongside icons Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty.

The actress played Mildred Deal in General Hospital in 1963, Myrna Clegg in Capitol in 1983, Helen Mullin in Generations in 1989-90, Beth Logan in The bold and the pretty in 1990-91, and Dr Claire McIntyre in days of our lives in 1999.
He is survived by his children, Gunnar and Pam; his grandchildren, Gefjon and Stone; and his great-grandson, Remi.
