Y Ravi Shankar is an Indian film producer and co-founder of the Indian film production company “Mythri Movie Makers,” which is known for producing Telugu-language films Srimanthudu (2015), Janatha Garage (2016), Rangasthalam (2018), and Mathu Vadalara (2019).

Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili hails from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He did his schooling at Veeramachaneni Paddayya Siddhartha Public School, Vijayawada. He graduated from Sagi Ramakrishnam Raju Engineering College (SRKR Engineering College), Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. Later, he relocated to Madhapur, a suburb of Hyderabad, Telangana.

Career
In August 2001, Y. Ravi Shankar became a director of Fore C Software Ltd, which undertook architectural, engineering and other technical activities in Tamil Nadu. In December 2005, he became a director of Netsource Softek Pvt Ltd, Telangana. He is the co-founder of the Indian film production company “Mythri Movie Makers,” which he co-founded along with his partners Naveen Yerneni and Mohan Cherukuri. Founded in 2015, the production predominantly produces and distributes Telugu films.
In 2015, Y. Ravi Shankar made his debut with the Telugu-language action drama film ‘Srimanthudu.’ The film follow a multi-millionaire man named Harsha who adopts a village in an attempt to fill the void in his life and makes effort to improve the standard of living of the local people. Immensely appreciated, the film earned Mythri Movie Makers the award for “Best Popular Film” at the 2016 Nandi Awards.
The production house’s second venture, ‘Janatha Garage’ (2016), is a Telugu-language action-drama film that chronicles the story of an environmental activist who, upon his visit to Hyderabad, comes across a man running an organization for the oppressed and joins hands with him for a noble cause.
In 2018, Mythri Movie Makers produced the Telugu-language period action-drama film ‘Rangasthalam 1985.’ The storyline of the film revolves around a young man with impaired hearing named Chittibabu and his elder brother who decide to oppose the unlawful 30-year-old rule of the corrupt leader of their village. For the film, Mythri Movie Makers earned the nomination for “Best Film” at the 2019 Filmfare Award – Telugu Film Industry.
After Mohan Cherukuri parted ways with the production house in 2019, it was headed by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar.
In 2021, the Mythri Movie Makers produced another popular Indian Telugu-language action drama film ‘Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1.’ The film centres around Pushpa Raj, one of the many coolies in the Seshachalam forests of South India who illegally smuggles red sandalwood of the forest.
After delivering several Telugu blockbusters films, Mythri Movie Makers announced their venture into Bollywood in 2021 with a Salman Khan starrer film. Y. Ravi Shankar also became a designated partner of the real estate company Mythri Associates LLP, Hyderabad, in July 2021.
